In Search of Melissa

Celebrated adventurers Rogahn the Fearless and Zelligar the Unknown lead lives of unparalleled heroism. They were known throughout the land as intrepid explorers and fearless combatants. After fighting bravely side by side for many years, the warrior and mage retired to Quasqueton, the stronghold they built as their sanctuary in which to live, love, and entertain. Then they set out to throw a rollicking gala, a huge party to celebrate their retirement from adventuring and toast their accomplishments. It would be a grand affair with live entertainment, endlessly flowing spirits, dancing, and a guest list filled with the most important nobles from miles around. 

But Rogahn and Zelligar have a secret. Or, secrets. Rogahn’s longtime paramour Melissa was never his lover at all. She was a mage from a nearby town that Rogahn and Zelligar claimed to have rescued from marauding orcs. For years she has lived with the fiction Rogahn created about the town, its fate, and his connection to Melissa. Enraged and seeking revenge Melissa has returned as a lich to ruin the party and see to the demise of the two heroes and their guests.

In Search of Melissa is an introductory module for character levels 1-3. It was created by Noora Rose and Sally Tamarkin for Chris Bissette's jam, In Search of Adventure. It was written with Knave in mind but it is compatible with any OSR system.
